In this nine hour, three day workshop you will learn the basic philosophy behind various traditions' approaches to sequencing, learn how to sequence a fun, safe, and challenging Vinyasa class, design and teach classes to your colleagues, receive feedback on your design and teaching, and conclude by co-teaching to the community a class you and your class create. You will walk away with a library of sequences written by you and your colleagues, and a deeper understanding about how to make great classes that guide the long term evolution of your students' practices.
"Whether you're a new or seasoned teacher, Erica's workshop expands one's repertoire and opens up the teacher to new & different ways of clearly communicating a class. Guiding you to journey outside the standard sequencing box, Erica takes great care in conveying her own knowledge & wisdom while also encouraging each teacher's authenticity. Her feedback, as well as input from the other attendees, inspires the teacher to delve deeper inside to bring out creativity that sometimes gets buried under burnout or lack of confidence. The air in this workshop was filled with an eclectic community of support and insightful ideas that evolved my teaching to a higher level." ~Ola Ahmad, workshop participant

Musicians' Yoga: Body and Soul
This workshop is a twelve week course designed introduce musicians to yoga, and to bring yoga to music, focusing on a musician's physical approach to their instrument and their relationship with music as an art form that nourishes the spirit and soul. At the conclusion of each four week unit, participants will receive a private session with Erica where they will work with the student's instrument, striving to build new ways to approach playing by connecting the physical and mental practice of yoga to music performance. Working in this way will help the performer to maintain and improve their physical health and deepen their connection to their own musicianship.
This extended workshop is a perfect addition to a music curriculum at the high school or conservatory. Erica's own experience as a professional musician imbues her with added insight into the challenges of being a musician, and her knowledge of many different instruments and musical genres allows her to empathize with musicians of all sorts.
